Dolichonyx oryzivorus
Synopsis: Breeds locally in small colonies in agricultural meadows in eastern Oregon. The breeding sites near Summer Lake and in the Klamath Basin were apparently discovered for the first time by the atlas project. Most notable are the records from Klamath, Lake, northern Harney, Baker, southern Umatilla, and eastern Crook Counties.

Relative Detectability: Fairly easy to detect by sight, but difficult to confirm breeding.

Challenge: Confirm nesting in Crook, Lake, and Klamath Counties. Search for additional locations in northern Baker, Grant, and Union Counties.
